CCTV Surveillance at Shanti Niketan School

The school is under CCTV surveillance, which is used to monitor and keep track of all activities that take place within the school premises. This surveillance is conducted with the full awareness of students, parents, and teachers.

Medical Room

The health of our students is our top priority.

Shanti Niketan School has an excellent medical room on campus, with medical professionals and support staff available during school hours. Regular health checkups are conducted class-wise for all students, and minor ailments are treated promptly.

At the time of admission, we collect each student’s medical records—including information on any allergies—which are referred to whenever the student visits the medical room.

We not only take care of our students’ health but also guide them on hygiene and preventive care essential during their years of rapid physical development. If a child is feeling unwell, a teacher or house parent will accompany them to the doctor for immediate attention.

Smart Class Rooms

Smartboard technology in classrooms is one of the best ways to enhance students’ learning experiences by projecting visual elements that support understanding and engagement. It is an innovative tool that improves both teaching and learning by offering a digital platform for notes, providing access to online resources, and making lessons more interactive and enjoyable.

Smartboards promote a health-friendly learning environment, improve communication, and enhance students’ academic performance. Teachers and students can better identify individual strengths and weaknesses in various subjects, and focus on areas that need improvement.

Using smart classrooms helps us stay ahead with technology, simplifies the education process, and increases students' interest in learning.

Computer Lab

The school has two well-equipped computer laboratories, each with 30 computers, accessible to students across different classes. It boasts advanced infrastructure in terms of both hardware and software, catering to the needs of students, teachers, and the curriculum. The school has a dedicated broadband Internet connection and a fully Wi-Fi-enabled campus, allowing enterprising students to become familiar with online tools and conduct comprehensive research for their projects and presentations.

The department is staffed with qualified and dedicated teachers who instruct students at various levels—Primary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary. The faculty ensures that students gain practical expertise in applying the tools and concepts included in their curriculum.

The curriculum is designed to expose students to a variety of technologies and software. In the primary section, students are trained in basic applications such as Windows and MS Office (including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel). Additionally, they are introduced to elementary programming through languages like Python, helping to build their logical reasoning skills.

Students are regularly assessed on their practical abilities through assignments and projects. In higher classes, they have the opportunity to explore advanced software, programming languages, and database management system (DBMS) skills, all of which are integrated into the curriculum. To further enhance their problem-solving and logical thinking abilities, students also learn computer languages such as HTML and Python.

Beyond the curriculum, students are encouraged to participate in various competitions. Faculty members work diligently with them to prepare for and meet the challenges of national-level academic and technical contests.

Mathematics Lab

How Children Learn Mathematics

Children acquire mathematical understanding by constructing their own meaning through increasingly abstract levels. They begin by exploring their personal experiences, existing understandings, and prior knowledge.

To support this, hands-on materials and manipulatives are provided, allowing students to touch, feel, and interact with objects as they grasp mathematical concepts. For example, place value blocks help teach the concept of place value. Manipulatives are used across various topics to make learning engaging and concrete.

Purpose of the Math Lab

The Mathematics Laboratory aims to emphasize learning by doing and through hands-on experience. It provides students with opportunities to discover and understand mathematical concepts through active problem-solving and exploration.

Our mathematics laboratory is well-equipped for all grade levels and supports a wide range of activities. All tasks involve both the mind and hands working together, which enhances cognition and deepens understanding.

Science Lab

CHEMISTRY LAB:-

The Chemistry laboratory at Shanti Niketan School is well-equipped to meet the requirements of both secondary and senior secondary levels. The lab is spacious and well-ventilated, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students. It is fitted with a proper gas supply system and safety measures, along with continuous water supply and sinks for efficient lab work.

Modern techniques have been used to install chemical storage stands, and lockers are available for students to safely store their lab records and aprons. The laboratory can accommodate more than 15 students at a time, allowing the teacher to assist each student individually during practical sessions.

  • Laboratory Consumables: Boiling flasks, plastic funnels, volumetric flasks, chromatographic apparatus, Petri dishes.

  • Liquid Handling Equipment: Burettes, pipettes, measuring cylinders, beakers, test tubes.
  • Flame Test Tools: Platinum wires and observation glass.
Safety Measures:
  • Students must wear lab aprons and gloves while performing experiments.
  • Fire extinguishers (CO? cylinders) are installed.
  • A first-aid box is available for emergencies such as accidents or injuries.
BIOLOGY LAB:-

The Biology laboratory is designed to provide students at the secondary and senior secondary levels with hands-on experience in scientific investigation. It introduces students to essential tools and techniques used in molecular and cellular biology.

Shanti Niketan School's Biology lab is fully equipped to support the curriculum and learning needs of students. It features proper gas and water supply, along with comprehensive safety measures including a fire extinguisher and a first-aid box to handle any emergency.

PHYSICS LAB:-

Shanti Niketan School takes pride in its state-of-the-art Physics laboratory, which offers students the opportunity for hands-on exploration of physical concepts. The lab features flat-topped tables that serve as student workstations and can be easily rearranged for group activities and experiments.

Equipment includes:

Language Lab

Clarity Language Lab:

Clarity is a state-of-the-art language lab designed to modernize language teaching methods. It offers a robust language learning platform enhanced with the latest technology and multimedia content.

Integrated teacher and student consoles allow two-way communication, student monitoring, and classroom control. Features such as group discussions and voice comparison with graphical representation make language learning interactive, engaging, and effective.

Clarity's curriculum-based English learning software covers all key language skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing, Grammar, and Pronunciation.

Listening

The Listening section features audio passages on a variety of topics, organized into phases 1 through 4.
Students listen to these passages and answer multiple-choice questions, with each phase presenting increasing levels of difficulty.

Reading

The Reading section offers passages at varying levels of complexity to build comprehension skills.
A built-in 'read-aloud' option supports students who need additional assistance.

Speaking

In the Speaking section, students engage in dialogue-based conversations on topics such as "talking about yourself" or "asking for directions."
They first listen to modeled conversations and then practice speaking using grammatically correct sentences and proper intonation.

Writing

The Writing section provides guided practice in various writing formats, including letter writing, story writing, essays, and more.
Each format is clearly explained, and students work independently, with the option to use read-aloud support for guidance.

Grammar

The Grammar section covers all essential topics such as parts of speech, tenses, articles, degrees of comparison, and more.
Students are provided with detailed explanations and progressively challenging exercises, along with instant feedback through answer keys.

Pronunciation

Clarity includes dedicated speaking assessments that allow recording and comparison of both student and facilitator voices to improve pronunciation.

Progress Tracking

A digital progress card displays the student's name, completion date, and time spent, allowing easy tracking of individual performance.
Students can also print their progress cards for review or submission.

Additional Features

Clarity includes optional software modules designed to help students prepare for standardized exams such as the SAT and IELTS.
Currently, it primarily supports learners of English as a second language, helping them strengthen foundational language skills.
